چکیده

This paper presents a comparative study on single-bolted double-lap joints with steel bolts and glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) bolt. Three types of including plain, galvanised stainless newly developed GFRP bolt were considered. Two preload levels practiced in the experiments, i.e. snug-tight full-tensioning. The torque-preload relationships for different investigated reference to international standards. It was found that showed highest efficiency torque conversion into preload, while lowest. Static experiments finite element (FE) analysis then conducted mechanical performance bolted shear comparatively studied terms failure modes, load-displacement load-strain responses. Similar joint stiffness or capacity under condition. High level can significantly increase by up 89.2% only 9.8% joints. FE modelling considering contact behaviours pretension well predict behaviour initial slip.

Failure Mode and Analysis of the Bonded/bolted Joints between a Hybrid Fibre Reinforced Polymer and Aluminium Alloy

Composites are being used extensively in several engineering applications. However, the efficiency of the joints used in joining composites and metals can be improved. To move towards a sustainable and environment friendly future, natural fibre composite material was used. Towards the above objective, research work was carried out for the assembly between a composite and aluminium. Three differ...

Mechanical Properties of Hybrid Fibre Reinforced Concrete With Steel And

The experimental study deals with Hybrid fibre reinforced concrete with the use of (Polypropylene and Recycled polyethylene terephthalate RPET). The M40 grade concrete used was designed by using IS10262-2009 code. The steel fibre and synthetic fibre were added at the volume fractions up to 0.5%. Test results showed that the fibres, when used in a hybrid form, could result in superior composite ...

Mechanical Properties of Fibre Reinforced Concrete - A Comparative Experimental Study

This paper in essence presents comparative experimental data on the mechanical performance of steel and synthetic fibre-reinforced concrete under compression, tensile split and flexure. URW1050 steel fibre and HPP45 synthetic fibre, both with the same concrete design mix, have been used to make cube specimens for a compression test, cylinders for a tensile split test and beam specimens for a fl...

Full Scale Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column Joints Strengthened with Steel Reinforced Polymer Systems

This paper presents the results of an experimental campaign performed at the Laboratory of Materials and Structural Testing of the University of Salerno (Italy) in order to investigate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beam-column joints strengthened with steel reinforced polymer (SRP) systems. With the aim to represent typical façade frames’ beam-column subassemblies found in...
